About Me

Dedicated To Modern Trusted Mental Health Care

About

Meet Andrea — A Counsellor Who Sees You as You Are.

I am a Canadian Certified Counsellor who genuinely enjoys getting to know people and understanding what makes each person unique. I believe counselling begins with a strong, trusting relationship, and I strive to create a space where people feel comfortable being themselves, without judgment. My approach is person-centered, humanistic, and trauma-informed. I also incorporate Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help clients build self-awareness, develop flexibility, and move toward the things that are meaningful to them.

My experience as a special needs teacher have greatly shaped the way I work with clients. Supporting neurodiverse children and youth taught me the importance of meeting people where they are, recognizing individual strengths, and adapting my approach to fit their needs rather than expecting them to fit into a particular mould.

I also bring my own life experiences to my work. Like many people, I have experienced challenging and difficult times, and those experiences have deepened my empathy and understanding of how hard life can sometimes feel. They have reminded me of the importance of having someone who will listen, without judgment, and walk alongside you when things feel overwhelming. I believe this allows me to connect with clients in a genuine and relatable way while maintaining the professionalism and boundaries of the counselling relationship.

Outside of counselling, I am a mom who loves spending time with my children and our beloved dog, Dexter. I also volunteer with Hospice Calgary, which has become especially meaningful to me as I continue to learn about grief, loss, and how we can support one another through life’s most difficult moments. At the heart of both my personal and professional life is a genuine belief in people, their resilience, and their capacity for growth.
